DDS Issues Notice of Potential Breach
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) has issued a public notice of a possible data breach of personal health information as a result of a break in at one of their office locations in Sacramento.
During this break in, the thieves did potentially have access to records that were in these offices. DDS does not have any evidence that any information has been compromised, accessed, stolen or removed from the site. Some laptops were stolen on which data was securely encryped. They are providing notice to all parties that potentially may have their personal information accessed. out of an abundance of caution.

If you have questions, please contact the Department of Developmental Services’ call center, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Pacific Time, at (877) 790-8160.
DDS cannot be certain whether or not anyone's protected health information was revealed , so they have sent a letter to all individuals with a developmental disability who received services through a regional center within the past ten years, notifying them of the breach (approximately 582,000). individuals.
