Distributing Personal Protective Equipment
HRC staff prepare bags of PPE supplies for clients, which are being loaded onto the buses typically used to transport clients to programs, and currently available to help with this effort.
Since very early in the State of Emergency pandemic, regional centers have been receiving Personal Protective Equipment in regular shipments from Sacramento. In the beginning months, PPE was provided to HRC for distribution to service providers providing direct care to clients in high-risk settings, to ensure that our group homes and our supported living providers and clients would have sufficient protective supplies.
More recently, the State announced that it would provide additional supplies of PPE to regional centers, to be provided not just to direct service providers but also to clients. We were happy to be able to begin distributing supplies to our non-residential clients as well.
As service coordinators reach out to their families to check in, or as we are contacted by the families, we are identifying clients who are in need of personal protective equipment. We contacted our transportation service providers to help deliver the PPE to service providers and families in need. Deliveries are being made twice weekly in this way to our clients and their families. We hope that you all stay safe and well!
