Accessing SSI

Applying for SSI can be a daunting task for some of our clients. This Street Smarts section is intended to give you pertinent information on the SSI program, including eligibility criteria and what the clients can expect when going through the application process. This information is primarily intended for clients who are 18 years and older and applying for SSI for the first time or for those clients who are about to turn 18.

Navigating MediCal

Medi-Cal is an important health support utilized by many HRC clients. In addition to basic medical care, certain clients will qualify for specialized care funded by Medi-Cal (e.g., shift nursing, In-Home Supportive Services, durable medical equipment). This Street Smarts section provides information on the Medi-Cal program, to allow you to assist clients in accessing the Medi-Cal services available to them.
