IHSS Care Economy Provider Payments

One-time incentive payments for IHSS caregivers

The California Governor’s Budget for 2021-22 includes $275 million in IHSS Care Economy payments to providers.

These are one-time incentive payments of $500 that will be made to IHSS providers who provided care to recipients for a minimum of two months between March 2020 and March 2021.

This proposal was recently approved by the federal government as part of California’s Home and Community Based Services Spending Plan.
